10 free crochet flower patterns that can be crocheted under 5 minutes

If you’re looking for a small and satisfying crochet project, quick flowers are the best way to go. They’re perfect for beginners, great for using up leftover yarn, and can be added to almost anything — gifts, hair clips, bouquets, or even handmade cards.

Here are five easy crochet flowers you can make in under five minutes, using just a few basic stitches and materials you probably already have.

First, materials...

Crocheting flowers are similar to crocheting amigurumis, with patterns working on the round and repetitive sticthes.

We will need:

• crochet hook size 2-2.5mm

yarn of your preference (4 ply) (check here how to pick the best yarn for your project)

• thin wire for every petal or leaf that will need it, 0.6mm wire.

• Thick wire for the flower stem, 2mm wire

  1. Baby's breath free flower pattern

baby's breath crochet flower

Baby breath flower (x9):

Start with magic ring

R1: chain 3, then work 2 sc in the 2nd stitch from the hook. Sl st into the original magic ring. Repeat 4 times to create 5 petals. 1 slst, cut and hide the tail.

For the flower center, pass 10cm of yellow yarn through the center of the flower and create a loop and knot the loop in place. Pass the extra yarn to the back of the flower, leave two tails.

You can make each flower under 5 minutes. For the full flower, make 9 babay breath's and connect them together with the thin wire. Roll green yarn around to hide it and make it look more realistic.

  1. Puffy flower crochet pattern

Flower part:

R1: 10sc magic ring, each 2sc stitch

will be used for 1 petal.

[4ch, unfinished (3dc) in the first stitch.

Then unfinished (3dc) in 2nd stitch.

And then we pass a yarn through all

the loops over the hook and do 4ch, sl]

Rep 4 times.

Unfinished dc stitch is made by just

doing the first part of the dc stitch

and leaving one yarn on the hook. After the first stitch you should have 4 yarns over the hook, and after the second, you should have 7. And then you pass one yarn through all of them to finish the dc stitch and make one petal.

Then continue until finishing the flower. For the inside, it is 4ch, 5 unfinished dc stitch in a magic ring. Then we pass one yarn through all the loops and FO. We stick it or sew it to the flower and we have it. I normally I make two puffy flowers and stitck them together so the front and back part looks the same and we can connect it to the stem.

With this puffy flower, you can make a bouquet, or a bag, or a blanket, just repeating the same process over and over.
